Our ingredients

Fresh, quality, local ingredients prepared in simple, classic style for a modern palate. Our seafood is locally sourced, in most cases coming straight from the harbor in the next town, Þorlákshöfn. We proudly serve Icelandic lamb.

Icelandic Langoustine

Nephrops norvegicus. Norway lobster. Langoustine. Dublin Bay Prawn. Scampi.

This slim, orange-pink lobster grows up to 25 cm (10 in) long from claws to tail, though average size is 14-20 cm (5.5-7.9 in). It inhabits the Northeast Atlantic and the North Sea, from Iceland and Northern Norway south to Portugal. Approximately 2.000-2.500 tons are caught in Iceland each year, mostly on the south coast. Lobster was first caught in Iceland in the 1950s, and the industry got its start right here in Eyrarbakki! You can see a newspaper clipping about it at the staircase by the entrance.
